Insight Visits
Once a month, we welcome up to 12 students plus accompanying staff to our sites here at Weston Park Cancer Charity.
What to expect
A typical visit may include:
- An introduction to the charity
- A guided tour of our sites
- The opportunity to hear from our Cancer Support team about their role
- A Q&A with our staff and/or volunteers
These 2-hour visits are a space for students to learn more about the workings of a local charity, understand the impact of the third sector in cancer care, and ask any questions they have about the charity, careers or cancer.
Whilst fundraising is always appreciated, these visits are free of charge. Due to the nature of our work and the limited availability of these sessions, we recommend students be Y10 or older and have a genuine interest in health and social care, or working within a charity setting.
Please note that this experience focuses on the work of Weston Park Cancer Charity and not NHS provision/Weston Park Hospital.
Feedback
"The Weston Park Insight Visit was absolutely amazing. [Our host] did really well at presenting towards us all, she was really clear and friendly, introduced us to her colleagues and gave us an insight into different career pathways. Overall, it was a great experience!"

"I really enjoyed the visit and found it very helpful. All questions I wanted to ask were answered and the people we met made us feel welcome."

"I thought the trip was really good, we got to see inside the charity and what they do for those with cancer or families who are going through it. It made me feel good about all the money we raised at the college at the Turn it Purple event."
