‘see it. treat it.’ appeal reaches £1.4 million fundraising milestone!

The appeal will bring Sheffield its first ever MRI simulator cancer scanning machine.

Weston Park Cancer Charity’s ‘see it. treat it.’ MRI simulator appeal has reached a major milestone – with £1.4 million now raised!

We’d like to express our gratitude to all of the individuals, businesses, and organisations across the region which have contributed to the appeal so far.

This includes our incredible corporate partner Westfield Health, which has played a pivotal role throughout by matching donations up to the value of £500k.

Thanks to the collective efforts of our supporters, we’re now well on our way to our £1.85 million fundraising target.

Once raised, we will be able to bring Sheffield its first ever MRI simulator cancer scanning machine.

This life-saving piece of equipment will enable our clinicians to deliver radiotherapy with far greater accuracy – sparing healthy tissue, reducing side effects, and boosting survival rates across our region.

Emma Clarke, CEO of Weston Park Cancer Charity, said:

“The way our community has rallied together behind the ‘see it. treat it.’ appeal has been nothing short of inspiring.
“I’d like to personally thank everyone who has helped us to reach this fantastic £1.4m fundraising milestone. Your generosity and kindness will save lives.
“The appeal’s fundraising goal of £1.85m is now in our sights. Every pound raised takes us one step closer to bringing this revolutionary MRI simulator to Sheffield.”

Dr Kash Purohit, ‘see it. treat it.’ Appeal Board Chair said:

“As a Retired Consultant Clinical Oncologist, I know just how much of an impact the MRI simulator will make on patients at Weston Park Cancer Centre.
“The scanner will allow oncologists to greatly enhance the accuracy of radiotherapy. Not only will this transform the treatment experience for patients, but it should improve outcomes across the board.
“We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has donated to the appeal so far, and we’re looking forward to the brilliant fundraising events on offer in 2026.”
