Exciting News: Weston Park Cancer Charity Expands Big Purple Bus Route to Include Parson Cross and Firvale Community Hub Stops
We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our Big Purple Bus route to include two new stops: Parson Cross and Firvale Community Hub. Since the end of September 2023, our Big Purple Buses have been making their way around Sheffield, bringing vital cancer support services directly into the heart of local communities.
At Weston Park Cancer Charity, we understand the impact a cancer diagnosis can have on individuals and their loved ones. That's why we're dedicated to providing services, advice, therapies, and support to help everyone live with and beyond cancer. Our Big Purple busesare bringingWeston Park’s services directly into the community for the first time ever. This crucial step will help us to ensure that people across our region have equal access to cancer support services.
The Big Purple Bus will be working alongside local organisations to ensure everyone across the region can benefit from the support and services offered by Weston Park Cancer Charity.
At Parson Cross we are working together with SOAR and Parson Cross Community Forum, organisations dedicated to enabling and supporting residents in North Sheffield . Firvale Community Hub, an award-winning organisation committed to improving social equalities and inclusion for marginalised communities in Sheffield are also partnering with The Big Purple Bus to extend the reach of our services.

“It’s brilliant to be able to bring our services to more areas around Sheffield. Anyone can pop on board to ask us anything about cancer – whether it’s concerns about symptoms, advice about money or how to take care of a loved one, we are here for everyone one affected by cancer.”
Our Big Purple Bus initiative represents a crucial step forward in ensuring that people across our region have equal access to cancer support services. Cancer can present physical, emotional, and financial challenges, and our buses play a vital role in bringing our advisers directly into local communities, making it easier than ever for individuals to access the support they need.
We are incredibly proud of the impact our Big Purple Buses have had since their launch, and we are delighted to now extend our services to Parson Cross and Fir Vale. By expanding our reach, we aim to let even more individuals and families affected by cancer know about our services providing them with the support and resources they deserve.
