Talking Cancer Sessions

Our Talking Cancer Sessions are designed to empower students to take action and feel able to advocate for their own health. With this in mind, we recommend students are Y10 or older.

We are able to deliver sessions to class groups, as one session in a wider carousel, or to whole year groups. Please get in touch to discuss the best option for your setting.

What to expect

• Sessions delivered by a healthcare professional
• Increased understanding of cancer and it’s risk factors
• Practical tips on how to do your own ‘health MOT’
• Props and statistics to help students understand the content
• An opportunity to ask questions and hold open discussion

The session was exceptional and highly impactful. The year-group assembly format proved to be very effective, enabling students to engage meaningfully with the content. The interactive element, where students were able to handle the breast, testicular, and colon cancer testing kits, was particularly well received. Students demonstrated genuine curiosity, asked thoughtful questions, and showed a strong interest in learning how to maintain their health and wellbeing.

Feedback from both staff and students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting how much they learned through this creative and engaging approach.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved. The session was truly excellent and greatly appreciated.
