Get ready to raise some dough: Time for Tea returns in May!
On your marks, get set...bake! Weston Park Cancer Charity’s Time for Tea fundraiser will take place in May this year.
Weston Park Cancer Charity’s much-loved Time for Tea fundraiser is back and set to raise thousands for people living with cancer.
The event will see star bakers from across the region gather friends, family, and colleagues together to raise a cuppa for a good cause.
Last year’s Time for Tea campaign raised a total of £15k. This brilliant sum helped to fund cancer support services, groundbreaking research, and improvements to Weston Park Cancer Centre.
This year, Time for Tea will officially take place in May, but supporters are encouraged to host their event whenever suits them best.
Whether you organise a cake sale or throw a themed tea party, funds raised will help the charity to be there, at every step, for local people who have been impacted by cancer.
Celebrity ambassador Rahul Mandal, who won the Great British Bake Off in 2018, is returning to lend his support to the campaign.
Rahul said:
“I’m excited to once again be supporting Weston Park Cancer Charity’s Time for Tea fundraiser. Last year was so much fun, and I’m looking forward to seeing how much we can raise this year.
“As a South Yorkshire resident, I have a huge amount of respect for the charity’s work. The services that they provide to people living with cancer are fantastic, as are the research projects that they fund at Weston Park Cancer Centre.”
Sam Heritage, Fundraising Manager at Weston Park Cancer Charity, said:
“We’re delighted to announce that Time for Tea is returning this May, after a successful relaunch in 2024.
“We can’t wait to see what our egg-cellent fundraisers get up to this year. Participants can find a whole host of tea-riffic fundraising materials, including bunting and cake flags, on our website.”
“Every slice of cake sold and every cup brewed will raise vital funds for the one in two of us who will face a cancer diagnosis.”
In 2024, hundreds of individuals, organisations, and schools across the region took part in Time for Tea, including Holiday Inn Barnsley, Lisboa Café & Patisserie, Holme Coffee House, Blend Culinary Foundation, Cooke Cakes South Yorkshire, Dolly's Desserts, and teams across Weston Park Cancer Centre.
